Description : Antique African art carved wooden ceremonial mask from the Hemba People in Zaire (now Democratic Republic of the Congo). Mask is possibly a Hemba ‘Soko-Mutu’ mask. Carved wooden mask with pierced eyes and mouth has dark patina throughout. Mask is displayed with custom stand. Mask measures approx 15 inches in length by 8.5 inches in width by 4.5 inches in depth. With stand, mask measures 22 inches in height. Mask has surface wear like imperfections to wood, consistent with antique age.
