Description : An Egyptian ceramic Bes jar, Late Period, c. 664 - 343 BC, ovoid in shape with rounded bottom, the neck tubular with flared mouth. The side of the vessel is indented with added eyes, nose and ears, the spout implying the tall, feathered headdress so characteristic of this deity. H: 5 ½ in (13.9 cm). Intact with light deposits. Ex Nomis Antiquities.
