Description : African carved wood bell decorated in incised patterns of geometric shapes and with a lizard to the face with the interior hallowed and carved to accommodate the traditional bell in wood which is still present. Yombe people, also known as the Kongo or Bakongo, are an ethnic group from Central Africa, primarily concentrated in the southwestern parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the Republic of Congo, and northern Angola. Size 10 H Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnograpic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.
