Description : RARE AFRICAN MILK GOURD CANTEEN ATTACHED LID:
Decorated with braided and straight leather thongs, zippers, beads and cowrie shells. The tall stopper portion is paint decorated and flared and fits tightly into the bottom gourd section.
Provenance: From estate of big game hunters living in New Jersey. They hunted in Africa primarily from 1980s and 1990s and collected African art while on safari.
