This is the rating and price for African Lobi Bateba Figurine

Description : African, Burkino Faso, Lobi culture, 20th c. This figure possesses the attributes of bateba figures created by the Lobi peoples. These figurines made their art historical debut in the 1979 catalogue of the Stanley Collection. Since that time, Piet Meyer of the Museum Rietberg in Zurich has produced significant research on bateba figures. They are described as intermediaries between men and protective spirits called Thila. Stylistically, this example boasts a marvelous abstraction of the human form, the kind that inspired many early modernists of the 20th century. ~13T, 14 with custom, museum quality stand Provenance: Ex-Dorje Strunk Collection, Hawaii All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
