Africa, Cameroon, Kom (Bekom) people, mid-20th century CE. This is a delightful mask made by the Kom people. Its most striking features are its enormous, phallic nose and its headdress, surmounted by three animals, it also has recessed disc eyes and a wide mouth with bar-shaped teeth. The Kom, who live in a grasslands environment, wear masks during dances at important ritual events like funerals or feasts. Custom stand. Size: 19.75 L (50.2 cm), 23.125 H (58.7 cm) on stand
