Description : DESCRIPTION: Three carved African masks. Includes: 1) Eket circular mask, Nigeria. Wood with dark patina. Residues of pigments. Flattened, round mask face with raised scarification marks above and below eyes, open worked eyes are flanking a lineal nose that runs down the center of face to open mouth, pierced around the rim for attachment. Minor damage, signs of abrasion, minor losses. 2) Woven headpiece with cowri shells. Scarifications to forehead and cheeks. Holes in ears. Brass hoop through nose. Pierced around perimeter for attachment. Minor wear to surface. Approximately 15 long. 3) Oval-shaped mask with white pigment on surface, sharp features and scarifications on forehead. Pierced on sides for attachment. Wear to surface throughout. Minor losses edges. Approximately 10-1/2 long. MEASUREMENTS: See Description. CONDITION: See Description.
