Carved wood figure with multiple inserted nails, wrapped twine, metal chains around neck and ankle, and carbuncle with glass covering. Many of these items have been added over time. A Nicondi is the most powerful of the Nkisi. They are seen as a vessel for harboring a spirit from the dead, with power to hunt down and punish wrongdoers.
