Literature : Sandy Shoolman (ed) (2019) The House that Jack Built, Port Elizabeth: Jack Lugg Art Gallery, illustrated in black and white on page 307. There is no caption but the text quotes a Natal Mercury newspaper article from 28 December 1948 recording that Lugg won the Emma Smith Scholarship to study abroad. This work was the submission for that scholarship.
