Anmerkung : The above work dates from the artist's sojourn in France, where he was heavily influenced by the work of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. He studied at the Academie Julian and then stayed with his cousin Elspeth Graham in Tamaris, South of France for the winter of 1919-1920. He returned to South Africa in 1923. Bibliography J. du P.
