Anmerkung : PROVENANCE:Purchased from the artistA private collection, UKIn the 1980's the young Onyango embarked on a passionate affair with Drosie, an English doctor of Anglo-Asian descent. The affair ended tragically with her sudden death through illness nine months later. Several years later, Onyango started to paint his memories and fantasies involving his former lover, leading to a celebrated and remarkable series of paintings which continues to the present day. This painting is inspired by Onyango's fantasies of Drosie's journeys to her motherland, India.
