Anmerkung : The artist Mrs S. Dowling acquired the original plaster of Paris model of Maquette for Miner with Hand Drill in 1928. After that in 1975, it was acquired by Mr Morris Cohen during an auction by Sotheby Parke Bernet South Africa on the 31st of October in Johannesburg (lot 81). In 1982 the University of Pretoria, the copyright holders of Van Wouw’s work, granted Mr Cohen permission to have 12 bronze casts. This work is the third cast of this edition. [1]
