Original crimson colored binding with a gold colored filled frame at the top of the front cover in which the title appears in negative crimson letters and alongside which is a drawing of a donkey rider with Tarbush on his head leading what is obviously a woman riding a camel against the background of a Middle Eastern scene of buildings and palm trees. Very good condition. Filled with nearly 170 photographs, some on entire pages. There is a full-page photo of The Jew's Wailing Wall in which there are many women and apparently no men, except for a singular male beggar. One line of women, including one with an umbrella, stand alongside the Wall and there are about four rows of women seated at the rear page 175 There is also a small photograph of the interior of an Ancient Synagogue at Nazareth page 225 There are many other very interesting photographs as well as several of the participants in the Missionary Journey. A photo of the author, his wife and son., appears on the frontispiece. Regarding Jerusalem, the book states that The present population of the city is estimated at 70000, as follows: 10000 Moslems, 45000 Jews, and 15000 Christians. The number of Jews has greatly increased during the past few years, notwithstanding the fact that they are forbidden to migrate or possess landed property page 130
