Das ist der Preis für die folgende Bewertung: Egyptian Faience Amulet - Bes On Palm

Beschreibung : **Originally Listed At $300** Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period or later, ca. 1000 to 332 BCE. A relatively large faience mold-made amulet depicting the god Bes perched on a palm tree, nude aside from a headdress. Bes is shown with exquisite detail, including finely rendered hands, feet, jewelry, and phallus, his face and ears are naturalistic. He has a beard which is often interpreted as a lion's mane, his plumed headdress is also diagnostic of the character. Bes watched over the household, particularly the women and children of the house, protecting them with the magical sign sa. An amulet like this one could have been carried by someone or kept in a household shrine to provide protection.
