Beschreibung : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, ca. 7th Century BCE. A stunning bronze statuette of the Oxyrhyncus (literally, sharp nosed) fish, of which there was a local cult in Egypt. This beautiful example has a frontal Uraeus made of a sun disc flanked by two cow horns. Behind the Uraeus is a loop for suspension.Measures approximately 5L x 3H.
