Among the titles in this lot are Glass Stamps and Weights, Objects of Daily Use, and Shabtis. Flinders Petrie was an English Egyptologist and a pioneer of systematic methodology in archaeology and preservation of artefacts. He held the first chair of Egyptology in the United Kingdom, and excavated many of the most important archaeological sites in Egypt in conjunction with his wife, Hilda Petrie (information courtesy of Wikipedia.org). It should be noted that a number of these are large-format volumes. This collection of books is from the holdings of Archaeologia Books and Prints. Established in 1983, Archaeologia was known for providing scholarly books of quality on the archaeology of Ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece & Rome, and the Pre-Columbian Americas.
