Anmerkung : Under his brush, with successive overlays of scumbling, Gregoire was able to imbue these Georgian facades of the Bo-Kaap with a credible textured patina. Painted in 1967 and based on countless pencil and pastel drawings executed in situ, enabled him to concretise these observations of this community onto the surface of a canvas.
