Beschreibung : African art. Moba, Togo. Tcihtcherik anthropomorphic sculpture. Hardwood with light natural patina. Consunction and signs of use.. Prescribed by the diviners of northern Togo to elevate the power and protection of individuals, families, or entire villages, these highly stylized sculptures made from a single block of wood depict the anthropomorphic figure with few volumes and succinct strokes: rounded head with no hint of a face, ring-shaped neck and pelvis, arms rough-hewn from the torso, and separate legs. No concession to descriptive detail, only synthesis. With beautiful natural patina and intriguing wood texture. With base. Measures with base: 77.9 x 15 cm. Cm 9,50 x 77,40.
