Beschreibung : of immense hollowed cylindrical form, and composed of numerous friezes encircling the whole including a row of fourteen miniature masks, each with pendant braided beard in high relief beneath varied geometric motifs and a second row of sixteen similarly carved masks beneath a dramatic row of raised zigzag motif encircling the shaft, fine aged encrusted patina with 'N229' in white pigment on the base with traces of red pigment. height 72in.
