Note : Koloane's experimental art examines the dynamic, disorderly, and challenging history of Johannesburg—its chaotic streets, high-rise buildings, slums, and townships; its music, violence, traffic congestion, traders, and stray dogs—with a chromatic and emotive intensity that is characteristic. These cityscapes exhibit vestiges of colonialism in the form of spatial and emotional defects.[1]
