Provenienza : Purchased from the artist, 1993; Janet Stanley Collection, Washington, D.C. * Janet L. Stanley was chief librarian at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C. until 2024. Over the course of her 50-year career, Janet built a personal collection of art from Africa numbering more than 450 works. One hundred works from her collection have been donated to the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art.
