Akinola Lasekan (Nigerian, 1921-1972) Portrait of a Yoruba Lady
Provenienza : Provenance Ms Kathleen A Player. Kathleen Player worked in Nigeria as Woman Education Officer at King's College, Lagos and then was the founder of Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin where she served as principal from 1954-1962. The inscription 'Onileku' refers to the village of that name in Oyo State, not far from the artist's birth town of Ipele, both in the heart of Yorubaland.
