Condition_report : This sculpture is made of African hardwoods that are carved and burned by the artist. In the areas where the wood was burned, there remains a thin layer of soot which is considered to be the intention of the artist. On the gilded parts which form the shield in this work, there are a minor cracks visible upon close examination. A small part of the crest in the lower region was detached and has been restored by a professional guilder.
