Notes : Paul Koston left South Africa in 1925 and joined the US Merchant Marine, returning to Cape Town around 1930, when he entered the Socialist movement. He was Secretary of the Independent Labour Party, joined the Lenin Club and then the Workers Party of South Africa. For some time he was the party Secretary. Besides his work in the party, he also owned and ran Modern Books, the main outlet for Marxist books in Cape Town.
