Notes : Provenance:The collection of the artist;The Sylvia Sarah Krige Trust.Krige had a particular interest with the hunter-gatherer tribes of Africa and a fascination with the Koi-San of Namibia and Botswana led him to the desert where he recorded the Koi-San's slowly dissolving way of life. Oom Dawid Kruiper, leader of the San Bushmen stated that “Were it not for the truthful art of Francois Krige our children would not know where to begin to pick up the pieces of our vanishing culture”.
