Consulter la cote et le prix de Rare Wrought Iron Slave Collar Ca. 1750-1840

Description : Slavery Rare Wrought Iron Slave Collar Ca. 1750-1840   Crafted out of wrought iron, measuring approximately 6” x 5.75”, this very sad artifact was likely used around the neck of a female or child slave to prevent them from running away, as it sounds an alarm with movement.  The sound mechanism is created by folding over a U. S. Half Dollar size circular extension of the collar and placing an object within to create the sound.  It is possible that it could have been used as a man’s ankle cuff, but it is more likely the previously described use.   Provenance:  Ibrahim Berthe, noted African artifact dealer who travels between the U. S. and Africa.   This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.   WE PROVIDE IN-HOUSE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
