Description : Details: Antique AFRICAN BRONZE TREE OF LIFE SCULPTURE Featuring 24 full Figures and 15 Reliefs Depicting Dancing Playing Musical Instruments and Copulation This lot features an antique African bronze sculpture, which is a multi piece design comprised of sand cast figures, tree and clay lined base. The sculpture is well cast and very intricate, depicting detailed tribal motifs in wire on both the base and the tree itself. The figures are adorned with headdresses jewelry and loin cloths, with three carrying well rendered musical instruments. The figures are shown largely in pairs, engaged in social activities with one pair copulating. Additionally all the pairing of its figures is purely heteronormative with 12 men and 12 women paired together possibly the reflection of a eurocentric view or market.
