Description : Details: These vintage items were part of a collection of African folk art and artifacts assembled by a teacher who traveled in East Africa in the 1950s and 1960s. Included in this group are two wire and cloth movable figures on tricycles. When pushed, the wheels turn and the attached figures appear to be pedaling the tricycles. Other items in this lot are a never-worn embroidered man's kufi hat, two batik pictures of rhinoceros, and a hand-painted picture of a man beating a drum. This piece is signed with a name and Nig., which may stand for Nigeria. Also included is a book on the Makonde sculpture of Tanzania, a 1964 map of East Africa, and a hand-carved wooden figurine of a fish.
