This antique set has been rebacked. Only one gilt-lettered spine label is present (with cracking). Both spine covers display chipping at the edges. The bindings are sound. The endpapers and blank pages at the front and rear of the volume have darkened edges. The title pages exhibit light foxing. The pages are largely clean and without markings. The first volume has three fold-out maps & one fold-out plan. The fold-out plan of the Great Pyramid is especially nice for the period of publication.
