Condition_report : The board bows slightly but appears sounds. There is evidence of old woodworm to the backboard but this appears to be no longer active. There are a small number of very tiny nicks to the surface of the work. There are some very small old flecks of loss in the lower left quadrant, upper left to the centre of the lower and right edges, which appear to be as a result of frame abrasion. There is evidence of fine lines of craquelure to several areas. There is some surface dirt throughout and some minor accretions, notably in the extreme lower left corner, and the varnish appears to have discoloured in places. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals a thick varnish which makes further details difficult to discern.
