Descrizione : The female fertility figure wearing jewelry and a high angled headdress carved from African oak is attributed to the Fante people of Ghana. Provenance: Morton and Estelle Sosland. The Soslands began acquiring examples of African and other tribal art in the 1960s, possibly earlier. Over the last two decades, objects of African Art with provenance to Morton and Estelle Sosland have been sold for up to six figures at major auctions in New York and California. Measures 13 inches.
