Descrizione : **Originally Listed At $200** Western Africa, Nigeria, Ogoni peoples, ca. mid-20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden mask of a minimalist form with an articulated mandible. The ovoid vizard features slit-form eyes, pairs of protruding circular dots along each temple, black curvilinear motifs surrounding the mouth, tab-shaped ears, and a singular horizontal scarification bar centered on the brow. The backswept coiffure is accentuated with black pigment to have it contrast against the cream-hued countenance, and thick lengths of rope suspend the mandible from the upper section of the mask.
