Descrizione : GibsonGeorgeFleming The Story of the Imperial Light Horse in the South African War 1899-1902. Rand Daily Mail Johannesburg:It is one of those war books which written some considerable distance from the events chronicled give a calm and detached view. Written in well balance perspective with proper regard for the part played both by the men who fought with the I.L.H. and those who fought against it. Capt. Gibson has gone to enormous trouble not merely in collecting his material but in having his details verified by others. What makes his work so attractive and thrilling to the general public is the human touch with which he has been able to supplement the bare facts. Original clothe with dustcover - colour Frontispiece 351 pages detailed historical text with a comprehensive account of the Imperial Light Horse in action during the Anglo-Boer War. Complete with maps some which fold out and with illustrations. The dustcover has some tape residue marks to flyleaves and abutting endpapers contents very clean.
