Descrizione : Property from the Estate of David Rapkin Description: African Janus-faced Bust, Raffia and Painted Wood, red and white painted Janus-head bust, probably Bembe Peoples, Democratic Republic of Congo, with raffia crown and collar. Provenance: Exhibted African Art in Unlikely Places: The David Rapkin Collection, University of Nebraska, Eisentrager-Howard Gallery, 2012. Measurements: Height: 15 1/2 in. x Width: 6 1/2 in. x Depth: 5 in. Condition: Overall good condition, wear to painted surface, age cracks, natural losses and irregularities to wood, some losses to raffia.
