Consulter la cote et le prix de Serial #4084E, 11Mm Mauser

Description : serial #4084e, 11mm Mauser, 28 1/2 barrel with a very good bore that shows some scattered light frosting. The in-the-white receiver, bolt and buttplate of this 1875 vintage rifle show scattered oxidation staining throughout, and the receiver shows two 3/4 areas of pitting and the buttplate shows a couple smaller areas of light pitting. The barrel has turned a dull brown patina with scattered freckling and a 1/4 area of pitting at right in front of receiver. The rear band and triggerguard are turning a silver pewter with oxidation staining scattered throughout, while the front band has turned a dull brown patina with scattered oxidation staining. The walnut stock rates very good with an armory added varnish finish, crisp Imperial cartouches, a 1/3 chip at upper tang, a 3/4 chip at toe, scattered scratches, dings and handling marks. The rifle has the correct bolt with the added ejector, all visible serial numbers are matching to the receiver and the buttplate was marked with a Schutztruppe unit marking which reads Sch/D.O.A./1587/(Crown)/S and there are two other lined-out indiscernible unit markings. The Schutztruppe were the German colonial police force in their African colonies and they often had their own modified versions of German service weapons such as the M71 and M98 rifles. Today surviving examples of these rifles are very hard-to-find and this is a fine example for the military collector. (207879-430) {ANTIQUE} [Craig Brown Collection]
