Mackay - Ernest John Henry Mackay (5 July 1880 – 2 October 1943) was an archeologist from Bristol and is well known for his excavations and studies of Mohenjo-daro and other sites belonging to the Indus Valley Civilization. Some consider his most famous discovery to be that of the Merneptah Stele, an opinion with which Petrie himself concurred. These antique volumes are bound in red half-cloth with printed paper covers. There is moderate spotting and toning to the paper covers, with light fraying at the edges of the cloth. The bindings are solid. The bookplates of former owners are affixed to the front endpapers. The pages show light age toning with occasional light marginal spotting.
