Description : Eastern Africa, Northern / Central Kenya to northern Tanzania, Maasai or Samburu tribes, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A very lengthy carbon-steel spear head with a tubular socket. The blade has two rounded and flat shoulders that taper inward. A prominent midrib runs from the tip to the neck on both sides of the blade. The size of this spearhead is impressive, and when mounted on a pole, this certainly was a formidable weapon which may have been used for lion hunting. Size: 38 L x 1 W (96.5 cm x 2.5 cm)
