Description : A superb Baule Monkey shrine figure, Baule, Ivory Coast Of unusually expressive form, the figure with large head with high brow and tubular eyes above an open aggressive mouth, the shoulders wide and sloping the arms sinuous and carefully carved with the hands raised to the body at differing levels, the narrow torso wearing original fiber skirt, the legs bent at the knees, figure standing on an integral base.
