Condition_report : Please note that this work is on its original canvas. The work is painted on re purposed Matadi flour bags. There is very minor buckling to the canvas, most noticeable in the right hand corner of the work. There is a seam running vertically within the right hand side of the work where the canvas is joined. The work exhibits some extensive craquelure and larger surface cracks throughout as well as areas of associated loss. The largest area of surface loss being in the lower left hand quadrant of the work, measuring approximately 30mm high by 5mm wide. There appear to be areas throughout where the cracked surface has destabilized the paint surface and there is risk of flaking. All four edges of the work exhibit moderate stretcher marks and associated loss. Please note that all four corners of the work exhibit wear and moderate associated surface loss. There appears to be a tear in the canvas measuring approximately 30mm long along the lower left-hand edge of the canvas. UV Light Report: Inspection under UV light shows the extent of the cracking and surface loss, but no indication of restoration or repair. Frame: Please note that this work is stretched but unframed.
