Consulter la cote et le prix de Mould For Amulet With Djed Pillar, New Kingdom Of Ancient Egypt

Description : Clay Possibly Pi-Ramesses / Qantir, Egypt, New Kingdom, 19th to 20th Dynasty Mould for an amulet with djed pillar Dimensions: 3.1 x 2.5 x 1.1 cm (width x height x depth) Provenance: Private Collection Bruno Wertz Scientific research: Dr. Jan Moje, Free University of Berlin (see references below) A similar djed pillar amulet is located in the Biblical Institute Fribourg (903) The mould of clay originates from Egypt (possibly Pi-Ramesses / Qantir), from the time of the New Kingdom, the 19 υ th to the 20 υ th Dynasty (1292-1070/69 BCE). It was used to form ceramic amulets in the shape of a djed pillar. The hieroglyphic for 'eternity' was a popular motive for a protective amulet. In this case, a little eyelet in the shape of a disk pearl of quartzite was attached to the backside of the jewellery before the firing process started. The mould could have also been used to mint the djed pillar into a tile or a piece of furniture. The little mould for a djed pillar is in complete condition, with normal traces of age. The exterior surface is minimally abraded, which does not impair the functionality of the mould. Further, slightly browned stains of the clay are visible, as well as traces of sand. The dimensions of the mould are 3.1 x 2.5 x 1.1 cm (width x height x depth). Auctionata would like to express its deep gratitude to Dr. Jan Moje for the scientific preparation of the collection and the research for the text.
