Description : Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1292 BCE. A stunning necklace of wearable form that is constructed with dozens of faience, carnelian, and shell beads. Several blue faience tube beads are strung along the beginning of each terminal and are interspersed with discoid shell beads and modern 14K gold beads. Along the lower terminals are 6 hand-carved carnelian beads among blue glass beads and additional 14K gold spacer beads, and the central pendant is a mold-formed wadjet (or Eye of Horus) covered in turquoise-hued glaze and bearing a black pupil.
