Condition_report : Structural Condition: The canvas unlined is securely attached to the artist's original keyed wooden stretcher. This is ensuring a stable structural support. The stretcher is slightly warped. Paint Surface: The paint surface has the artist's original unvarnished appearance. There is evidence of surface dirt and handling marks within the sky on the upper edge. There are a few localised areas of fine lines of craquelure, including small linear cracks on the back of the blue top of the figure in the lower left. These appear stable at present. Inspection under ultra violet light shows a few small retouchings near the lower right vertical edge, and a further small area of retouching on the blue top of the woman in the left of the composition. The painting has an uneven fluorescence which appears to be attributable to the artist's materials and techniques. Summary: The painting would therefore appear to be in good and stable condition.
