Notas : EXHIBITED:London, Upper Grosvenor Galleries.Born in London, and trained at Repton School and the Slade, Shephard taught and exhibited in London before taking up the appointment of director at the Michaelis Art School at the University of Cape Town in 1948. Inspired by the brilliant colour and strong light of Africa, he exhibited in Cape Town and Johannesburg from 1948 to 1963. Following the death of his wife in 1962, Shephard decided to return to England with his children and to paint full-time.
