In 1991 Nigel Mansell returned to Williams, winning five times in their Renault-powered Fw]4 cars, and in 1992 the combination of Mansell and the latest Williams-Renault FW14B proved near unbeatable, winning the first five consecutive GPs of the new season, then adding another four later in the year to secure the Drivers' World Championship total. He then moved to the Usa to become Indycar Champion at his first attempt, and after a brief final foray into Formula I with Mclaren his frontline career as a racing driver reached its conclusion. This is understood to be the first-ever 'Union Jack' Bell race helmet, painted by Doug Eyre to a Nigel Mansell design and as used by him throughout the 1978 Formula 3 race season. The helmet shows all the obvious signs of race wear and relevant marks from visor adjustment. The Union Jack design bears the name 'Nigel' but with no other sponsors' logos. An important and highly desirable piece of Formula I -related memorabilia. See illustration
