Descripción : Details: This lot consists of the antique lithograph of an engraving shown in the corresponding images. This plate, entitled Plan of the Antiquities of Athens, as Surveyed by J. Stuart, 1752, features the Acropolis near the center and numerous surrounding landmarks, including the Areopagus, Templi Peribolus, and the Ilissus River. Measuring approximately 28 1/2 x 21, this piece was excised from The Antiquities of Athens by James Stuart, et al. This lithograph is from the holdings of Archaeologia Books and Prints. Established in 1983, Archaeologia was known for providing scholarly books of quality on the archaeology of Ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece & Rome, and the Pre-Columbian Americas.
