Talla : 71cm longCondition report : Crafted using several pieces of wood. Much of the original gesso painted surface remains with some polychrome decoration. There are visible cracks in the boat which would have been masked when all the original gesso remained. All figures, the canopy, prow, stern and barrel behind the canopy and all the figures separately attached. The paddle is loose. The arms of the four kneeling and one standing figure are all attached with pegs. Two of the rowers have broken arms. The horns of the ibex are cracked but remain in place. The figure seated beneath the canopy, which is formed from four vertical and separately attached columns pegged into the canopy above. The seated figure is formed from a single piece of wood with the arms and hands defined through the added painted decoration With wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per age, handling, use, and cleaning.
