Descripción : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A petite amulet carved from chocolate-brown hardstone depicting the god Horus in the shape of a falcon. The dignified falcon stands tall atop an integral rectangular plinth with delineated legs, holds both wings against the sides of its breast, and features a perforated suspension loop protruding just above the broad tail feathers. A pair of ovoid eyes and a conical beak imbue the pendant with an attractive visage and a characteristic avian presentation. Condition report : Repair to body from two pieces just above top of legs, with light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor abrasions and nicks to plinth, legs, body, and head, with softening to some finer details. Nice avian features remaining.
