Descubra la tasación y los precios de esta y más obras de arte africano en Africartmarket. Dogon Bronze Equestrian Figure, 1985.0

Descripción : Dogon Bronze Equestrian Figure Mali The Dogon are an ethnic group living in the central plateau region of eastern Mali, in West Africa, south of the Niger River. This is a beautiful specimen of a Dogon figure on horseback. Despite the simplicity of the lines, it provides an impression of strength and rigor in design and craftsmanship. The figure of the rider suggests pride, holding the reins with both hands and riding the animal without a saddle. The horse theme is recurrent in Dogon statuary and refers to the myth of creation.
