Carved wood figure with inserted nails, spongy bark, isinglass eye coverings and blades that have been added over time. A Nicondi is the most powerful of the Nkisi. They are regarded as a vessel for a spirit from the dead with power to hunt down and punish wrongdoers. They are inspired to action with invoked and provoked invocations.
