Descripción : Details: This lot consists of the antique engravings shown in the corresponding images. These engravings (Vol.II.Ch.V.Pl.1, Chap.V.Pl.1, and Vol.II.Ch.II.Pl.I) have been excised from James Stuart and Nicholas Revett's Antiquities of Athens. Depicted in these images are figures set against the backdrop of Greece's architecture, both that of antiquity and those contemporary to the scene. Two of the engravings are of what appear to be fortifications. This collection of engravings is from the holdings of Archaeologia Books and Prints. Established in 1983, Archaeologia was known for providing scholarly books of quality on the archaeology of Ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece & Rome, and the Pre-Columbian Americas.
